The Hancock Owls showed a balanced offensive attack against the Sebeka Trojans on Friday night as they ran for 206 yards and passed for 203 in their 43-24 victory, to remain unbeaten in seven games this season.

Sebeka struck first on a 15 yard TD pass for an early 6-0 lead, however, the Owls tied the game on a 14 yard run by Chase Evink.

Another Evink TD run, this time from 19 yards out early in the second quarter gave Hancock a 12-6 lead.  Davin Rose then connected with Matt Thompson on a 30 yard touchdown pass and after a successful extra point kick the Owls took a 19-6 lead.  Rose hit Luke Joos with a 53 yard TD pass and Toby Messner ran the ball in for the two-point conversion to make the score 27-6.  A 3 yard run by Sebeka late in the second quarter put the halftime lead at 27-12 for the Owls.

A 4 yard TD run by Sebeka cut the Hancock lead to 27-18, but the Owls increased the lead to 35-18 with a 17 yard TD pass from Rose to Thompson and a two-point conversion pass from Rose to Evink.

Evink scored his third touchdown of the night on an 8 yard run in the fourth quarter and carried the ball into the end zone for the two-point conversion and a 43-18 Hancock lead.  Sebeka closed out the scoring with a 19 yard run, butting the final at 43-24.

Rose completed 9-of-12 passes for 203 yards and 3 TD’s.  Thompson had 6 catches for 112 yards and 2 scores and Joos caught 3 balls for 91 yards and a TD.  Evink led the rushing attack with 146 yards on 13 attempts, getting into the end zone three times.

Defensively, Thompson had 5 solo tackles and 10 assists, Levi Kellenberger added 2 solo tackles and 7 assists, and Dain Schroeder assisted on 20 tackles.

“Sebeka came out with a nice game plan and did a nice job executing that plan,” said Hancock Head Coach Chad Christianson.  “This was a nice team win.  We were able to see improvements on some of the things we have been working on and also were able to see some areas that we need to put some more time into. We will look to clean some of those things up this week with the short week as we prepare for Bertha-Hewitt on Wednesday.”

No Sebeka stats have been reported.
