Morris Area shot 40% (25-62) from the field on Saturday and placed three players in double figures as they defeated the Hancock Owls 63-48 in a high school boys’ basketball game played at UM-Morris. Hancock made 39% (18-46) of their shots from the field.
Jackson Loge led the Tigers with 15 points. Toby Gonnerman and Brandon Jergenson each added 13 with Jergenson connecting on three 3-pointers.
Hancock was led by20 points from Hudson VerSteeg, who made five 3’s. Matt Thompson registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Zachary Koehl distributed a team high 5 assists and picked up a pair of steals to lead the Owls.
Hancock (5-3) plays road games at Underwood on Monday and at West Central Area on Friday.
