Lady Owls Win Two Games from Wheaton/Herman-Norcross

Hancock swept a softball double header from Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Tuesday, scoring 9 runs in the third inning of the opening game and going on to post a 16-5 victory, and winning game two by the score of 10-5.

 

In game one, the lady Owls took advantage of ten walks by Warrior pitchers and managed to score 16 runs on only 6 hits.  They were led by Karleigh Rohloff (2-4, 2RBI, R), Brooke VerSteeg (1-2, 3B, 2RBI, 2R, BB), Jordan Hausmann (1-2, RBI, 3R, BB) and Kaitlyn Rohloff (RBI, R, BB).  The winning pitcher was Carlee Hanson (5IP, 4H, 5R, 4ER, 7BB, 5K).  Emily Drewicke drove in two runs for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross and Jordyn Perry had a triple and scored a run.

Gabrielle Joos (7IP, 7H, 5ER, 4BB, 7K) was the winning pitcher for the Owls in game two.  Joos helped her own cause by going 1-for-2 with a pair of runs batted in.  Carlee Hanson (1-3, RBI, 2R, SB), Rylee Hanson (1-4, 2RBI, SB), Jordan Hausmann (1-3, RBI, R, SB), Karleigh Rohloff (1-3, 2R, SB) and Cassandra Villela Velez (2-3, 2B, R) were the offensive leaders for Hancock.  Wheaton/Herman-Norcross was led by Drewicke (2-3, 3RBI, SB), Sadie Vipond (2-4, 2B, 2RBI, R) and Perry (1-4, 2RBI, SB).
